Bertie is absolutely mad for Peppa Pig and so when I saw the party collection at party pieces I just knew it would be the perfect theme. The party packs contain all the essentials such as plates, cups, tablecloth and bunting and were the starting point to the decor., there are two different size options depending on how many you’re having to the party. The bunting hung above the stove beside our dining table and I protected our painted table with the Peppa tablecloth. Already this little area was transforming into Peppa pig land but I thought a few characters would be the perfect touch. The cardboard cutouts brought screams of delight when Bertie first saw them. I popped them on our mantle for the party, however, I have been told they will be permanently living in Bertie’s bedroom for the foreseeable future! They were a real talking point of the party with toddlers wanting them brought down to have their photos taken with the characters. I have a tradition that I always make the kids birthday cakes myself so after lots of Pinterest inspiration, I baked Bertie his favourite chocolate cake, iced with his name and, of course, Peppa Pig. Honeywell bakes made us some Peppa and George cookies which tasted as good as they looked and further nibbles included Marks & Spencer’s Percy Pigs and popcorn . We ended the party with a pig piñata, filled with sweets of course. Each child took a turn and there was an astounding cheer when the pig finally broke and they got to devour the contents. Thanks Party Pieces for providing such a fantastic range and making Bertie’s Birthday extra special.
